The Acupuncture channel system is the end result of a process of unfolding that involves numerous changes and development prior to the arising of these 12 channels. In the embryo these channels arise simultaneous to the arising of the limb buds, around the beginning of the fifth week of fetal life. This may seem early but in experiential terms it is actually a very long time that we live in different systems than these. The acupuncture channel system is the last energetic system to arise, the final architectural flowering of the astral / etheric interface as it generates the physical body.
Prior to the arising of the regular acupuncture system we have seen the arising of the the following aspects of the architecture of the etheric / Qi body, the mental / Shen body and the casual / Ling body. :

The acupuncture system, when it does arise, is also a hologram of the whole universe in and of itself, even though it also represents a more tangible, Qi level 'model'. Hence it actually starts in the Heart. It originates in the Heart. This is why I call it Sacred Acupuncture. It originates in the Heart and travels down the Heart channel, expressing the compassionate response of the true Self to the realm of Other. This is then contained within the Pericardium and the Causal realm of Wood. It is expressed out through the causal planes as the Pericardium channel. The Lung channel begins at the solar plexus and descends down to Guan Yuan, CV.4. The solar plexus is where the body identified consciousness meets the expanding force of the Kala chakra.

This meeting generates the diaphragm, which is why the diaphragmatic tissue derives from an embryonic tissue that was originally positioned above the Head. The diaphragm carries the witnessing, the knowing, of the cycle of incarnation from the spiritual body at CV.16 ‘Zhong Ting’. The lung channel carries this knowing down to Guan Yuan. At Guan Yuan, CV.4 the knowing of Zhong Ting CV. 16 has penetrated to the body. This pulls the causal information in a descending train after it as the Descending Fire force melts the Metal atom of physical incarnation. This generates Water. This is the origin of pure Shen within the body, generated at the navel. This is also the origin of the Qi. The ascending lung channel, from Guan Yuan CV.4 is pulled up by the in-breathe. This is incarnation. This travels upwards. It travels down the arms to the Lower Dan Tian center of the hand – which is the Tiger’s Mouth L.I.4 'Hu Kou".

The Lung channel is the first channel from within the enmeshed Qi or Etheric body. It was historically considered the start of the acupuncture system from the viewpoint of the etheric or 'Qi" realm.
In fact the first impulse expressed in the acupuncture system starts with the supracausal spark moving out from the Heart, via the Heart channels, to fill out the Universal body. It is like a blazing light. The next impulse starts in the Pericardium channel as the Wei field distinctions are generated. (The Causal plane is like the reflection back of this blazing light from the realm of Other. This dynamic is seen in the small intestine channel).The Heart Fire is expressed out to form the small intestine channel and out to generate the Pericardium. The movement of the Pericardium channel is an expression of our Causal condition generating the Hun within the Shen realm. There are nine Hun expressed in the Pericardium channel. The lung channel is the physical capturing of this supra-causal, causal and Hun type soul. The Lung captures the pericardium light and absorbs it into form. The lung captures it in form, The lung captures the soul. This is why the lung often expresses sadness. The soul has three distinctions, the supracausal represented in the Heart channel, the causal, the Hun represented in the Pericarium channel. As the lung captures the supracausal and the Hun it generates the P’o, the third aspect of the Soul, corresponding to the instincts and drives and the innate intelligences of the body-mind.

The P'o generate the twelve descending distinctions. The Hun forms the 10 vertical ascending distinctions, These vertical opposing forces generate the spinning horizontal forces of the navel chakra. These are represented in the 12 constellations of the zodiac. They form the swastika, which forms the physical body. So at the lung channel the cycle of the 12 descending Metal distinctions starts. It is this energy which generates each of the acupuncture channels as existent in the Qi realm, and each having certain Qi characteristics corresponding to the larger circle of the seasons and the procession of the constellations around the earth. Thus we see the onset of the flow of the channels in the 12 hour Chinese clock ordering of Lung, Large Intestine, Stomach, Spleen etc starting the cycle of Qi fullness in the various meridians according to the phase of the play of consciousness that is being expressed.
