Course Highlights:
- A Historical overview and specific texts from the Nei Jing describing each channel
- It is surprising how much information is contained in the actual Nei Jing descriptions of the channels which has not been included in modern acupuncture
- A summary of the architecture of the 6 Jing / phases / Divisions which form the 12 bilateral
acupuncture channels
- Grasping what the Nei Jing says about the 6 phases is very useful in understanding the channels
- An examination of the energetic tropism of each channel deriving from its target organ
- Each organ has specific Yin / Yang characteristics explained in the Nei Jing
- An exploration of the Five Forces (Five Elements) in relation to each channel.
- We will explore the idea that the zang-Fu organs each express more than one element
- An exploration of the 10 Heavenly stems and the Ke cycle in relation to the channels
- The significance of the 12 hour clock cycle of channel and organ relationships
- The personality of the 12 regular channels based on the animals of the Chinese zodiac as per the Bie Jing cycle
- The afflictive and redemptive emotional processes represented by each of the channels
- The evolutionary and involutionary impulses expressed in each of the channels
- The relationship of the 12 regular acupuncture channels to the 'Shi Er Di Zhi' the twelve earthly branches
- Methods of diagnosing the condition of the channels according to:
- designing balancing treatments
- a review of the different methods of balancing channels against each other within a treatment
This Seminar is taught with equal time given to lecture, clinical practice, experiential exercises and Qigong practices to embody the concepts presented. Notes and illustrations will be provided.
